A devoted mother of three children, Peggy Kilgo passed away on August 28, 2017, in her home surrounded by the love and comfort of her family.
As a young girl, Peggy knew her calling was to be a teacher, so she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Education at Virginia Commonwealth University and went on to a nearly three-decade career in teaching at Chalkley Elementary. Peggy was a lively spirit who loved life, loved to shop, loved her dog, Pooh, and loved her family more than anything.
She is survived by her son, Jason Kilgo, wife, Cindy, daughter, Jalise and son, Troy; her son, Brian Kilgo, wife, Jessica, son, Austin and daughters, Kaitlyn, Zoey and Izabella; and her daughter, Terri Hierholzer her husband, Craig and son, Coleman. She is also survived by her sisters, Joane and Carol; and her brothers, Dennis and Johnny. Preceding Peggy in death are her parents, Pauline V. and Ernest Terry Halsey; her sisters, Jean and Lenna; and her brother, Terry. Contributions may be made to the Richmond SPCA.
